How to add a bonus hunt overlay to OBS
To add a bonus hunt overlay to OBS, copy your tracker's overlay URL, add a Browser source in OBS, paste the URL and set the width and height to your canvas — usually 1920 by 1080. From then on the overlay updates by itself as you add bonuses and enter results.

1. Build the overlay
Start in your tracker's overlay editor. In StreamNeeds that means dropping hunt widgets — the hunt table, the hunt dashboard, running totals, recent results — into a scene, then styling them once. They follow every hunt from then on.
2. Copy the overlay URL
Every overlay has its own URL. Treat it like a password: anyone who has it can load your overlay, so keep it out of chat and out of public posts.
3. Add a Browser source in OBS
In OBS, click the plus under Sources, choose Browser, give it a name and paste the URL. Set the width and height to your canvas size — 1920 by 1080 for most streams — so the widgets sit exactly where you placed them in the editor.
- Sources → + → Browser
- Paste the overlay URL
- Width 1920, height 1080 (match your canvas)
- Leave the background transparent
4. Check it updates live
Add a test bonus in your tracker and watch the overlay. It should appear within a second, with no refresh. Long hunt lists scroll on their own and stop scrolling when everything fits, so a short hunt does not crawl up and down.
If the overlay is blank
Check the URL was pasted in full, then right-click the source and choose Refresh. If the widgets show in the wrong place, the browser source size does not match your canvas — set it to the same width and height.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my bonus hunt overlay blank in OBS?
- Usually the URL was cut short when pasting, or the source needs a refresh. Right-click the browser source, choose Refresh, and check the full URL is there.
Does a bonus hunt overlay work on Kick and Twitch?
- Yes. The overlay lives in OBS, so it shows on whichever platform you stream to.
Can I switch OBS scenes from chat?
- With StreamNeeds, yes: OBS scene control runs over the OBS WebSocket, so scenes can follow your hunt or be switched from chat.
Run this on your own stream
Streamneeds gives you the hunt tracker, the overlay and the bot in one place.
